Watching the Arnold Palmer Invitational and they just interview Brad Faxon. He played an early round this morning at Isleworth and when he got there Tiger was at the back of the range working on his putting. Brad went to say hello and asked him, jokingly if he needed any help with his putter. Brad went on to say they started talking about styles and strokes and what Tiger is trying to do along with the following comment: "and he is messing with a new putter" preparing for the masters.

So, the question is, what putter will Tiger be using when he makes his comeback at the Masters?

It will also be interesting to see what sponsership will be on his golf bag now that AT&T dropped him. I'm guessing it will be Nike.

I was thinking that maybe he could go back to the old 1997 Tei3 model and kind of jump start the whole thing. Who knows, but I agree with Mr. D, if is not a Cameron it will be a Method for sure.

I just got it on pretty good authority that he's been using a different putter quite a bit lately. (Well, as lately as it could be...)

I really don't see him using a different putter the first tournament back with all of the world watching what he does. I think he may be trying something out for down the road but I think there is no way he switches before a major especially the first one back.

Maybe his therapy requires that he give up some material thing/object, that he places great value in, to keep him on the straight and narrow. It's a mind thing, if he can win with another putter, he can get by without the extra-marital sex.

If he had been as faithful to his wife as he was to his putter he would not be in this mess. Perhaps he is looking to start a fresh life and is looking to show his priorities are family related and golf is secondary. When you do that sometimes material things and past obsessions have to be changed to get out of the same patterns that lead to the problems to start with. It may must be another way that he is proving that he is serious about change and will change everything he can to be a new man.

My feeling on all this is that anyone that thinks Tiger will never switch...is just kidding themselves. He will use a Nike putter someday (or some other company if he and nike break up before he finds a nike he likes)....none of this really surprises me. And I don't mean to make light of any of this but I think his recent 'problems' show that he isn't above thinking that the grass is greener someplace else. He (and just about every other star, celebrity, athlete, etc.) is only loyal to one person...themself. And watching those guys on the practice green at Bay Hill last week just shows how 'loyal' or 'attached' they are to their putters....each and every one of them had a wandering eye. Always looking at what someone else is trying....checking the other bags, etc.

Tiger has been keeping a Nike putter as a back up to his #1. I was talking with a Nike rep the other day and he felt that Tiger would put it into play at the Masters. As we all know, practice and playing with it are two different things.

Tiger should switch to a Nike putter and strike a deal with Nike that they will produce an unlimited retail "replica" version of his Nike putter with all the profits of that putter going to Tiger. The TW putter could be purchased in different length, different weights, with or without site dot, site line, etc.

It would generate big sales for Nike's Method and other putters and it would generate big income for Tiger while boosting his ego, adding a putter to his other personalized Nike gear in the TW marketing machine.

I've heard he messes around with different putters occasionally in practice rounds, but I've yet to see a new one actually in the bag come tournament time. It's hard to imagine he'd be fooling with it in the run up to a major though if he wasn't seriously considering putting it in the bag.
