New Miura Putters
« on: July 29, 2008, 01:40:07 pm »
Hello,
Miura Golf is back in the putter business. They are beginning a limited release of two Forged / Milled putter models. The plumber's neck putter will be offered in 350 grams (model # MP-005) and 370 grams ( model # MP-006). The blade putter (model # KM-350)will be offered in 350 grams. They have asked me to kick off the US introduction. Here are some pictures and I hope to have heads in stock on Monday August 4th. I am sure I won't have all the answers to your questions right now, but stay tuned. These putters will sell for $390 with a large variety of shaft and grip options. My C & L partner Lee will also be involved in this venture
Thanks,
Chip

The blade looks very nice.

The Blade is a design that Mr Katsuhiro Miura developed and personally uses. Hence the KM 350 model number.

What are they made out of?

Jr,
They are forged from 1025 carbon and then milled to exact specs. These putters are forged in his world famous factory in Himeji Japan. The Blade putter even utilizes a Spin-fused hosel. The Putters have a special plated finish that is called "Black/Silver". So the putter does not need to be oiled.

are the miura putters as expensive as the irons? these are lookin pretty plain-jane to me if they are trying to command the price point of the upper-echelon putters (ie mills handmade, bettinardi DASS, etc.) however, if they are sub-$300 putters than i could see it being justified.

not as expensive as I would have thought ($390) for a miura putter. i was thinking they'd be more like $800.

yes, we build them for you and loft/lie can be adjusted.  we can build with multiple shafts such as nippon, TT, or fuji speeder (we have 3 different color in the speeder).

thanks,

PIMP!

What's the weight on the graphite shafts?  Lighter or heavier then a TT steel shaft?  Basically would like to know what it will do to SW?

How does the blade compare (size wise) to a Wizard 600?  Is it compact like the Wizard, or larger like a TPA XVIII?

it is compact as it appears in the pics.  fairly short heel to toe.  Mr Miura's personal design.  I had the chance to roll some with the proto and it is a very solid blade - especially with the weight.

Hello,
The KM 350 blade hangs almost straight down to 6 o'clock. The MP-005 "Anser style" model hangs at 4.30.

Hello,
Yes the KM 350 Blade is very compact like Lee (hoganapex) noted. It is close in size to the Wizard 600 and feels very solid.

Just re-shafted the 005. Had it out on the putting green today and it feels soooo soft :w00t:, yet perfectly connected, no loss of head feel at all. This putter is MONEY!

I havent gamed one but i have putted around with one.  I love the feel and you can definatly feel the ball come off the face, it doesn't bounce off per se.  Its like a soft metal feel... if you can get over the small size then you should defiantly try one

I received both putters this last week from Chip.  I haven't played a round with them yet but just messing around with them here in the house on putting strip, they feel great.  Looking forward to gaming them.

How does the km-350 compare to the km-005/mp-005 model? Do they have the same feel? I figure they are both blade type and have the same weight just dufferent hossel. Can't decide which of the two to get. I know I have to try both but I just wanted to get other's perspective.

Thanks!

I gamed my MP 005 for the first time yesterday and putted lights out.  My playing partners kept asking questions about the putter....  Anyway, it's a great putter and if you haven't picked one up, I'd highly suggest you to if you like putters with a 4:30 toe hang.
