New Pro Fit Face

If you have tried one, and can compare that feel to a Rife, please fill me in.  It just seems like a glorified Rife to me.

Strange post considering you currently have a Bettinardi FIT Face for sale in the SwapShop so you obviously know how a FIT face feels. Then again maybe you were just posting to increase your post count and decided to take a shot at one of Bettinardi's products in the process.

Jr, I was asking about the modified face found on the new "PRO" Bettinardi putters, like what is found on some of the new BB0's.

Just asking about feel, noticed the milling was similar to Rife's, no need to get personal or emotional.  I own four Bett's now, I'm not questioning their quality, just asking a question b/c I can't make it up to Chicago to try one out before I buy.  Like any responsible consumer, I'm trying to research a future purchase.

Which one are you referring to as a Pro FIT?  I assume the one w/ the pronounced horizontal milling?

Assume it's the Modified, Brian Gay, FIT face.  I think the theory is that the more metal you remove from the contact area of the face, the softer it will feel.  The Modified FF seems to have less metal removed than the Mizuno FF.

Just my impressions.  Betti guys will correct me if I'm wrong.

I've had three different fit faces. To me the fit face on the sig proto was the softest. The Brian Gay fit face feels a little firmer to me. It also seems to get the ball rolling faster, next time I'm in Chicago I'll check that out with Ben. It also helps to have been fitted.

Thanks for the input.  I've owned both the BC series and SB MR2 lines and really enjoyed the feel, but the different types of milling produces different feel at impact.

I owned 2 of the original Sig Proto w/FIT FACE (the railroad ties) DASS, the BC model w/FIT FACE (carbon) and a Bettinardi JAM with the modified FIT FACE (Carbon).   Love the feel of the original FIT FACE (railroad ties)...just as soft as an insert, but I honestly had the same issues I do with Odyssey...I couldn't consistently control my distances.   Both DASS and Carbon with the original railroad tie FIT FACE was just too soft for my taste.

Now the Modified FIT FACE on the JAM is just about perfect.   It has a bit more responsiveness yet it still retains a more muted sound and softer feel.   As stated earlier, it does seem to get the ball rolling forward.   My distance control with it has been quite excellent with it.
