Author Topic: Finally a place I can find out some information about a Bettinardi I own!!!  (Read 400 times)

Hi all,

I just joined today, have some friends here and am sure some familiar faces will appear over time.  I look forward to being part of Putter Talk.

I am looking for some information on a sweet Bettinardi that I own and game.  Any info would be appreciated especially the value.  The putter is a straight shafted Xcellerator (before the baby bee) done in Red and stamped on sole FINAL 1/8.  I love this putter but have never been able to find out anything about it.

I will add some pictures tonight, thanks for any input.

Pictures, and some fixes to the description.  It is only stamped FINAL not 1/8 but I have never seen another and it may be the best rolling putter I have ever seen!

Welcome.   This certainly is the right place to discuss Bettinardi's.

I don't have any good answers for you but I'm sure one of the Studio B guys will chime in at some point and fill you in.

I have a black version.  The "first run" came out in Dec 2002.  One member here has one of the "first run". It's a bit different from the one we have.  It does not have the honeycomb slots behind the face.  It's simply an open slot.   The Baby Bee came out after that and the Hogan version Baby Ben.  There was a Japanese version as well.  From what I found on the internet it was a bit heavier than the Baby Bens.  Not sure where that Baby Bee and Xecelerator fit in weight wise.  I think it's should be somewhere between 350-360g.

I'll take some pics of mine and post them later.

Here's a rough old shot of the First Run with its side slot

When the sun finally comes out again I'll get some better shots.

All very nice, great performing putters. Really like the different colors. The only fault is they cannot be refinished.

I checked a few years ago about removing dings on one. I don't remember the exact response, but I do remember that I couldn't get it done. Possibly because it was made of aluminum?

Sorry to have doubted you but, thats why we're all here, to learn.

I spoke with Glenn today on about some bits & pieces & the aluminum doesn't take well to cleaning process used prior to re-milling.

"Ten seconds to long in the wash and the putters shot"

Don't worry about the dink, you either put it there or got the discount when buying it.
