Bettinardi 3/4. What's it worth now?
« on: February 05, 2010, 01:18:15 am »
Just curious what one would go for now. Mine is 1 of 2 with the open hex stamp around the 3/4 and is in the black prism finish. It is brand new. This is NOT a WTS ad. I'm just curious. Mods, apologies if this is the wrong section.

No problem. I have better ones somewhere where you can really see all the color contrasts in it. I just don't remember which computer they are on LOL.

no 3/4 mallet  >:(

Actually, what he said was "not yet"  ::)

Great putter, wouldn't let it go for anything under double what you paid for it.

I decided to throw it on ebay.  I picked up 8 putters total, I wasn't going to keep them all.  We will see what it goes for.

DASS and blue flamed should bring some interesting bids.

The wife was a little crazy (albeit always a good sport) with the introduction of 8 new putters.  I had to put a new rack together along with my new ground rack from BOB to support the putters.

I will post pictures of the golf room and you guys can see the madness.....

Dang..nice sale Derf! Makes me wish I still had the original 7 3/4 BB1 Alum Bronze heads.... when we made them, back in November of 2007, I had 6 of the 7 in my possession to sell and I hard time finding a buyer for the last one.... Wish I would have kept it!!!

I wonder if anyone wanted to bid or had it sniped? I personally snipe almost everything now, and I bet there were quite a few willing to put up some good money for it but never had a chance once it surpassed $2500.

Wish I had my Al Kaline rookie baseball card, too. :)  I might have traded it for one of the Alm/Brz 3/4 heads.  Oh, the opportunities we've missed.

For those who thought the market was in the doldrums, think again.  At least for a 3/4 anyway.    :o

I think it is right in line, I believe the last two 3/4 putters to sell were exotic metals (Copper and Aluminum Bronze) thus the higher prices

Just curious what one would go for now. Mine is 1 of 2 with the open hex stamp around the 3/4 and is in the black prism finish. It is brand new. This is NOT a WTS ad. I'm just curious. Mods, apologies if this is the wrong section.

Wow!  I got in trouble from one of the mods for even being close to asking something like this.

I think you are referring to the thread you started before you had 50 posts that was titled Putter Appraisal. You posted "It would be interesting to see what my collection might be worth." Then posted photos of some of your putters and when someone asked you if they were for sale you posted "Am I allowed to say 'yes' in this category?".

It was obvious that you knew that you needed to meet some minimum posting requirements before you could post in the Classified Section and that you knew that you were not suppose to try and sell stuff outside the Classified Section. Your Putter Appraisal thread looked to be a sneaky way to try and get around the rules and a mod politely explained that to you.

In the above situation the poster had well over 5 times the number of posts needed to try and sell stuff on PT and if he wanted to sell his putter he could have listed it in the Classified Section. Hence, the situations were completely different.

I am sorry you are still carrying around a chip on your shoulder about the hand slap you received but you were treated no differently than anyone else that has tried to circumvent the rules to sell stuff before they were allowed.

Seems like a bit of a heavy handed reply...not sure that kind of lashing was called for, given his comment.  Might have been better served as a PM instead of making a mockery of him in the forum.  In my past year of cruising PT, you've seemed like a very fair minded/even guy...this post doesn't seem to match.  Just my 2 pennies worth.
I am an IOmic Grip and Bionic Glove rep.  PM if there is anything I can get for you.

If the post I was replying to had been sent as a PM I would have replied as a PM. Since it was not, instead of letting everyone who reads the post wondering about what was said, I thought a public explanation was appropriate. In addition, I do not think my reply made a "mockery" of the member. It just pointed out my views on what occurred.
