« on: February 04, 2010, 02:23:17 pm »
ive had this putter for a few years. today i just decided to pull the plastic off the head and the grip.  the plastic had ripped in 2 places, causing some patina.

any info or thoughts on this putter?

thanks

Are these be-cu, brass or? Are you gonna polish out the patina to let it start over evenly, or leave as is?

We call it X Metal it's very very soft.

Jimmy,

I was curious how the X material differs from AlBr.  The Old Guy has one of these in lefty (1 of 10 I believe) and still loves it on firmer greens.

I use MAAS Metal polish. It is a cream in a tube like toothpaste. You can polish any metal with it and it works really great. Got it at WalMart. I had a Mercedes Betti (just sold it) and polished it with this stuff. It looked really good.

Brad...to be really honest I'm not sure how the X metal is different from the AlBr.

I wouldn't use anything abrasive to polish the metal.

Hooves,

Be warned when you see the Superintendents sign

Chemical feeds on the greens will turn that putter all colours

I had a BHB3X made on the same X materail

& yes nothing abrasive to polish it

But super soft.

I have a BBX80 that I have been meaning to clean up and get listed on eBay.  Is the BBX80 the exact same head?  Was the BBX series sold in pro shops, because I have no idea where this putter came from.

Thanks,
T

I had a BBX80 also and I'm real sure it is the same as the Mercedes. I just sold it on e-bay last week.

There is more to putters than just Cameron amigo.  That is a nice putter you have and a cool piece of Bettinardi hardware.
