Forgot I had this one.  Bought right out of Byron's hands at last year's PGA show.  Gamed it with him the next day at Orange Cty. National (man was that EARLY!), and made a 10 footer for birdie on the first hole.  Sweet!  Love the mill chatter on this CNC proto.

I have a little older one I would guess, 2000 dh. I am guessing that stands for 2000 Dale Head.

I met Byron through john Scharon last year. He's a great guy and makes a fine putter. I wanted one of his putters(like JS's) that he had at the PGA show in 06' but he sold the last one, I think to JS, plus i was short on spending money anyway at the time. I recently spoke to byron and purchased this and ordered another putter which i am really excited about.

« Reply #7 on: February 26, 2007, 06:37:15 pm »

Here is mine.  Just came in today.  Believe it to be 350g and 35 inches in length.  Black Oxide finish with a full sound slot cut all the way through.

Can anyone identify the model for me?  006?  Sorry new to Byron's.

Here's my CBE7, after just two days the copper had started to oxidise. What a change, also had to get a special grip for it Grin

He He - Glad you managed to resist temptation, I couldn't.
What do you mean by personal putter? Does Byron use this style himself?

Love it !!! 370g is a bit hefty for me, so took a little while to get the distance control to where I needed, but once I did I couldn't be happier with it. Long putting is easier for me ( I'd guess that most people find a heavier putter helps on short putts?). No offset really works for me, and I can feel straight away if the ball hasn't been struck on the sweet spot. Thanks for the tarn-x tip also- I'll have to give that a go this weekend because people won't believe it's new

Yep, that's right.  According to Steve and Drew, Byron prefers no offset in his own putters.

I believe there were only 3 of these made - one in copper, one in carbon and one in stainless.

Byron uses one of them as his gamer.

I love how the TeCu looks like it's on fire in just the right light. You can kind of see it in Drew's cavity pic above right below the topline. After a few days it gets a wonderful oxidation that swirls between yellows, copper, browns, and even a hint of some blueish color on really oxidized parts. With just the right setting sun it looks like the putter is some mystical object ready to spit fire.

The 006 is more like the Anser 2, the 007 is more like the Anser.

Steve, it seems that the patina is a bit different for everyone's Copper Byron as the color darkens.  This unique quality in each putter is one of the great things about the line.

Love the patina Steve. Mine started to turn a more orange-ish color with more transitional colors in spots. Then I cleaned it back to the original state for fun. I'm going to let the patina run wild this time and post some time line pics later. It's very interesting to watch these TeCu putters mature.

Is the sound slot an additional price or standard? how about those sweet club covers?
Thanks

You can have either a sound slot or without. I personally like the ones without better .You also have your pick on the headcovers.

Here are a couple of mine.  I thinned the herd, already starting to miss some of those gone.  I'll get over it, I am sure.
The handmade is solid and rolls like butter.  My 007 made three 15-footers, right out of the box.
They just don't get a whole lot better than Byrons, do they?

Just a teaser of some work done for me a few years ago..............about 9 years, now that I think of it.  Byron took a production MO-T, removed the standard hosel and welded on this High Beam'r.  I rolled this one for quite a while, then it went out of rotation, still don't remember why.
Enjoy,
