I included the last one because it was one of the funniest putting strokes we'd ever seen.

Lenny shot a 168, was drunker than any 3 people there....but I'll bet he had the most fun. (I like that his right heel is off the ground.)

Doug,
The card said 159 but was actually well over 200. First hole, 3 shots into the water, drop into the water, drop into the water, drop into the water. We said drop on the other side, chip over the green, chip back over the green, chip onto the green and two or three putts and called it a ten. It didn't get much better after that either. Thankfully Bob was buying the sport pops.

3 drops into the water FTW! hahahahahah!  Nice Pete.

I told him...just tell people you shot 89 today...twice.

Maybe I didn't put that right. He hit his third shot into the creek, drops a ball and hits it into the creek, drops another ball and hits that into the creek, drops another ball and hits that into the creek. We tell him to drop on the other side, you get the drift. Easy 15 er so, geeez.

I just want to state for the record that when I order a Bettinardi cigar ashtray I want Doug doing the stampings on mine.  He did one heck of a job on his, and the pics don't even do it justice!  Plus, using the ashtray led to one of the funnier exchanges between Doug and Bob.

The custom trial run sounds great !! I wish I had been there to get in on that !!

Trouble is, where would you start? Too much cool stuff is already coming out!

Great putters, sounds like a great weekend!

The custom idea is interesting but the dollar amounts being mentioned (roughly double the cost of a DASS or carbon putter) is just way too much for me.  You're talking about $1500-$1600 for DASS (my preferred metal) and around $1200 for carbon.

I love Bettinardi putters but I can't fathom paying that much for a putter.  And no--I'd never pay that much for a Cameron either.

Just my opinion.  It's worth what you paid for it.

Actually, it's $2,000 for DASS, and $1,400 for carbon.

Just coming back up for air after being out of the office last week.   :(

To Bob and all the nice folks at Bettinardi, thanks for the hospitality.

To Jimmy, thank you for the invitation and opportunity to attend.  It was a real treat, and it was great to see lots of old friends and make some new ones.

Here is the Copper 3/4 that I purchased. It is bead blasted on top, weighs 345g, no sight aid and is # 4 of 7 made. It had already started to tarnish so I cleaned it up for the photos. It is going to be really hard not to game this putter now and then.

Here is a BB-1 Proto Plumbers Long Neck that weighs in at 364g and has no sight aid. It has the micro honeycomb face milling that make is look like a piece of jewelry. Triple black finish on soft carbon steel with a Jumbo Hex B on the sole and is one of 10 of this style that was made, I think they all had different features l like material, weight, sight aids, engravings, etc.

Here is a BB-1 Proto Plumbers Long Neck that weighs in at 350g and has no sight aid. It has unique fly face milling that makes me think back to Bettinardi's work from the early 1990's. Raw finished Aluminum Bronze (great feeling ZERO maintenance material) with a Jumbo Stinger Bee on the sole and is one of 10 of this style that was made, I think they all had different features like material, weight, sight aids, engravings, etc.

Here is a BB-8 TOUR Proto Plumbers Long Neck that weighs in at 351g and has no sight aid. It has the micro honeycomb face milling that make is look like a piece of jewelry. The Soft Carbon is finished in Black Prism and it is UNBELIEVABLE to look at in natural light. The lime green paint fill looks fantastic with the greens, reds and purples in the black prism finish. You really have to see this one to believe it. It has a Jumbo Hex B on the sole, nothing and nothing on the face. There were less than 10 of these made.

All the other putters I purchased with the idea of gaming them as they were all BB-1 style heads. When I saw this BB-8 and the way it looked I could not resist the temptation. I told myself I was not going to start to buy putters to collect and this one broke the rule. I may decide to sell this one down the road but boy is is nice to look at. The pictures do not do it justice.

Not stamps but milled engravings via CNC machine.

Here's my Blue Flamed DASS BB-8 from the Social.  Hard to tell from the pictures, but the face is fly milled, but not smoothed out.  It really grabs the ball and forces it to roll, right as it makes contact.  All the face and sole paint fill is Maroon and looks nice with the flaming.
